Looking after the elderly this Christmas
Among the winter gloom, there are many stories and social media posts to warm the heart.
I refer to stories of companies and worthy folk giving of their time, resources and energies to charities and initiatives to help those in need, to feel included and not left out of the festivities at what can be a difficult time of year.
Unfortunately, there are many older people that this time of year is difficult.
Many who would be with us and are “in spirit” but unable to join in for many reasons.
For example, the housebound may only see their carer over the holiday period.
So those caregivers, to whom others rely on help to remain living at home, are some of the most important people!
Thank you to all caregivers and support workers
Our thanks goes out to the caregivers and support workers who go the extra mile at this time of year, especially to those who would be isolated and neglected.
Friends Helping at Home was set up to enable people to get the help and the support that they needed – and that meant always delivering on two key things:
- Attracting carers whose vocation and passion is to provide care
- Giving choice to those who need care
The good news is that Friends Helping at Home carers and support workers are not only for Christmas, but throughout the year, 365 days, 24/7.
Every customer chooses and books the carers and support workers that they want when they want!
Good carers are always appreciated and awarded by us.
